The Last Molfar bestiary update: today a very special guest – Chuhaister, an iconic figure exclusive to Ukrainian mythology, unknown to other Slavic peoples.
Chuhaister is often depicted as a jovial overgrown man with black or white fur and blue eyes. Unlike many creatures from Slavik mythology, Chuhaister is friendly to humans. He enjoys dancing, singing, and playing his flute and wouldn’t mind joining you by the bonfire for a chit-chat.
There is a darker part to this friendly giant though. Chuhaister is known to relentlessly hunt down Mavkas (woman-like creatures that are dangerous for people) and eat them. From the perspective of Mavkas, Chuhaister is nothing short of a living nightmare.
